What our warranty covers

Our own 10-year warranty covers your shades, motors and system components. Our lifetime warranty covers our installation workmanship. A warranty is only as good as the company behind it, and we've been shading DFW patios since 2012.

Our 10-year warranty

What it covers
Shades, motors and system components.
Against what
Qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.
Who handles it
We do. We handle the warranty paperwork and service for you.

Coverage is subject to your signed project documents and proper use and maintenance.

Lifetime warranty on our installation workmanship

For the life of the originally installed system, at its original installation address, we stand behind defects caused by our original installation workmanship. Here is what that covers:

  • Secure attachment of housings, side tracks, brackets and mounting hardware
  • Alignment, spacing and fit as installed
  • Binding or misalignment caused by the original installation
  • Re-securing hardware that fails because it was installed improperly
  • Labor to correct a verified installation defect

The shades, motors and parts themselves fall under our 10-year warranty above. The lifetime warranty is about how we installed them.

Our own crew installs every system, and an install has about an eighth of an inch of room for error, so we measure and set each one to that tolerance.

What's handled outside the warranty

These are the things our warranty does not cover, so nothing comes as a surprise.

  • Normal wear, cleaning, lubrication, routine maintenance and adjustments.

  • Damage from storms, wind, freezing, water, impact, misuse, obstructions or forced operation.

  • Movement or failure of the home or supporting structure.

  • Power, wiring, automation, alterations, or work not done by Texas Shade.

Coverage is subject to your signed project documents and proper use and maintenance. Your signed project documents have the complete terms.

Still here when you call

We're going to be here for you. We've been shading DFW patios since 2012, and we service the systems we install.

Texas Shade installed six large screens for us in 2014. The material and workmanship were excellent, so when it came time to install screens in our new home, they were the first company I called. The installation was completed last month, and we’re just as happy with the results. Highly recommend!

Warranty questions

  • What warranty does Texas Shade offer?

Our own 10-year warranty covers shades, motors and system components against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. On top of that, we offer a lifetime warranty on our installation workmanship, for the originally installed system at its original installation address. Coverage is subject to your signed project documents and proper use and maintenance.

  • Does the lifetime warranty cover the motor or the fabric?

No. Our lifetime warranty on our installation workmanship covers how we installed the system. The shade, motor and other components fall under our 10-year warranty.

  • What would void or fall outside my coverage?

Normal wear, routine maintenance, damage from storms, wind, freezing, water, impact, misuse, obstructions or forced operation, movement of the home or its structure, problems with power, wiring or automation, alterations, and work not done by Texas Shade are all handled outside the warranty. Coverage also depends on proper use and maintenance, so run your shades regularly, keep the tracks clean, use only the dry silicone lubricant we recommend, and never force a shade that is frozen or stuck.

  • How do I make a warranty claim?

Call (817) 470-0744 during office hours, or use the request form on our Service & Maintenance page. We'll check your coverage and handle the warranty paperwork.
